If you haven’t listened to the Ricky Gervais podcasts, you owe it to yourself to seek them out and listen to all of them! Karl Pilkington is the resident idiot of the show. Gervais has him speaks about his crazy observations of life. And boy are they crazy!

It appears they have given him some pocket change and a camera crew to run around the world and be shocked and awed. It looks like Borat, but real!

Damn! This is gonna be good!

The book was created through the support of the Kickstarter community, a company dedicated to helping to fund creative projects through small donations from individual supporters. Kickstarter seems a very democratic solution to the funding of the arts. I wish I had known about the Designing Obama project while they were still taking donations.

So far I like it. Its easy to use. I’ve already found my friends on it. However, I’m left wondering ‘how much will I actually use this?’ I think I now know the answer to this. “When I’m looking for new entertainment.”

I don’t think Ping is necessarily built like Facebook or Twitter. I’m not sure its made to be used everyday. I think its more like Angie’s List, a network of people that want good reliable and fair service, and are interested in finding others with this same interest. Ping is very similar to this. A service where you can find others that have similar tastes when you are looking for that something new to occupy your brian.

Having iTunes open isn’t a big deal for me. I have it open everyday. While I’m working. I have it open daily to download the latest episodes of the Daily Show and podcasts. And I’m constantly syncing my iPhone to it to keep it backed up and up to date. I think many others have a routine similar to this or it at least encompasses one these habits.

Initially, I thought that Ping should be outside of iTunes, like Twitter and Facebook. But I think Ping’s strength could be from being inside of iTunes. The social network that is there when you might be open to a suggestion of a new band that sounds nothing like what your are currently listening to, but somehow sounds so damn good that you can’t live without it anymore.

If you aren’t already buying your content from iTunes, this probably isn’t for you. You’ll probably never have your cursor near the iTunes Store to ever remember to open Ping back up to see what somebody else has told the world that they liked.

That being said I think I would like some way of seeing what others are listening to while they are working at their computer or when they are listening to music on their iPhone. But this isn’t a big deal. Finding another amazing band that I didn’t know existed seems like it could be iTunes secret weapon.

I had borrowed the movie from a friend and it has been sitting on the side of my TV for over 2 months! I didn’t watch it until he requested for it back so that his daughter could enjoy it once again. Being a Miyazaki fan, I had to watch it before I gave it back.

I must say, I loved it! The movie is a re-imagining of the Little Mermaid and I have to say it is very different and completely excellent. Ponyo is adorable and her father, “the evil wizard” is so quirky and refreshing to see.

Brief thoughts on what I love about this movie and Miyazaki movies in general:

• fresh story and point of view
• attention to mannerisms of children and adult are some of the best in film today
• the imagination of Miyazaki is always inspiring and surprising

I enjoyed this movie very much. I would really like to watch it again to see all that I have missed.

1. Start your movie, tv show, or video podcast on your iPhone or iPod touch.
2. While the video is running, turn off your iPhone or iPod touch by clicking the top on/off sleep/wake button.
3. Double click the home button. This will bring up the iPod controls.
4. Press the play button.
